Questions

You can use some of these in Growth Groups or alone:

Read through 1 Corinthians 9:19-27

  • Paul says he has ‘become all things to all people so that by all possible means I may save some.’ (verse 22).
    • In what ways do you think Christians today can be too separate from the world around us?
    • In what ways do Christians today blend in too much with the world around us?
    • Paul is willing to go to great lengths to bring even a few people to Christ. What might this mean for you in your situation?
  • Paul compares our lives as Christians with ‘strict training’ for a race (verse 25)
    • What differences are there between ‘training’ and ‘trying’ – eg for a marathon or playing an instrument
    • In what ways can we ‘train’ as Christians? (It might help to think of 3 areas: loving God, loving one another, loving others)
    • If God is the most important part of your life, what could you do personally to ‘train’ more to ‘win the prize’ starting (or continuing) this week?

Join us to Pray for our church, community and the world on Sundays at 5:45- 6:30pm via Zoom.

What can I pray for?

  • Pray for the work of the Message Trust – one of our Mission Partners. You could particularly pray for their work of Community Transformation which you can find out more about here
  • Pray for our local care homes – for the residents and their families, as well as those who care for them
  • Pray for our church here in 3 areas: that we would all grow in our love for God, our love for one another and our love for others
