Questions

You can use some of these in Growth Groups or alone:

Read through Matthew 5:13-16

  • People use the phrase ‘You’re the salt of the earth’. What do we mean? What do you think Jesus meant?
  • In what ways might we ‘lose our saltiness’?
  • What could it mean to be ‘the light of the world’ in our local community?
  • What sort of ‘good deeds’ (v16) could we be doing in our local community to bring light to it?
  • What sort of good deeds could we do in the wider world to bring light?
  • How could you intentionally bring light into the lives of others this week?

What can I pray for?

  • Pray for us as a church that we would do ‘good deeds’ so that we are light to our community.
  • Pray too that we would know God’s will and grow in love as we decide on the future use of our finances and buildings.
  • Pray for peace in North Korea and the surrounding area – find out more on a News Website.
  • Pray for one of our Mission Partners, Dave Maguire in Romania – find out more at our page of Mission Partners
